"But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun." You exclaimed with a dramatic tone of your voice, your hand held upwards, as if trying to grasp the beautiful 'maiden' above you. You resisted the urge to sigh as he sneaked a quick glance down at you, winking before he continued to stare ahead. You didn't agree to this, not really. You were bored and tired and he was suggesting you do things, and so you did them...
You now regret it. You knew Ghislain was dramatic, you'd been friends with him far longer than you had been dating him, so you knew and often you had encouraged it. Not only was he entertaining but, well, it was him. You didn't want to change that, so you'd encouraged it. You encouraged his loud proclamations, you encouraged his obnoxious actions, you even encouraged the way he loudly proclaimed his love for you in both actions and words because this was him. You loved him for him and you never wanted that to change.
"Carry on!" Ghislain whisper-yelled down at you, his hazel eyes sneaking a pointedly worried glance down at you before he quickly looked back up, his face softening back into that dreamy look. You sighed again and carried on with your lines, raising your hands a little when you realised they'd fallen. However, you regretted not saying anything against this.
Recently, Ghislain had enrolled into a dramatic academy, and he was doing quite well. The teachers were pleased with him, the students liked him. It was nice to see him come home with a huge grin on his face, so whenever he spoke about his day you listened with such joy, you never seemed to realise the time until it was late. Today had been one of those days, where he came rushing in, excited and childlike, with that huge grin on his face as he shouted about his day. You'd listened, deciding to get dinner on while you did so (or else dinner would not be ready in time, you feared).
You'd listened with one ear open, mind only half awake to his talking, the other half focused on not cutting yourself with the sharp knife, and you were so focused, you later blamed, that when Ghislain had quietened down quite suddenly and asked almost innocently if you could work on a project the school had assigned him with him, you had agreed. This was why, you also blamed, when you did realise what you'd agreed to, you had practically screamed at Ghislain (who waited for you to calm down before passing you your outfit).
So now you were stuck, playing the role of Romeo while Ghislain played Juliet (you had a feeling he did that because it required less work, even though it's his assignment), and what made it worse is that it was in front of your and his family. They were all sat on garden chairs, which Ghislain had brought in especially for this, and were all watching with full attention. You hated it, and often if you found your eyes straying too far away from Ghislain, you found them looking at you, causing your heart to speed faster. Ghislain coughed suddenly, and you snapped to attention.
Looking up, you were about to continue on, not really knowing what came next but knowing you have to continue- but then you saw something that terrified you. Standing on the sofa in front of you, arms spread out, a huge cheesy grin on his face, was Ghislain, falling forward, ready for you to catch him.
Your eyes went wide and your hands shot outwards, either to stop him or catch him you weren't sure, but it was too late. Before you could do anything, he was already on top of you, a light frown twisting his face as he looked at you like you'd just ruined his life. You smiled, chuckling sheepishly and turned away from his face to stare at the two families watching you two, both of which were trying not to laugh.
